FAQs

To add, remove or replace your vehicles, log in to your eFlow account and select ‘Vehicles, Tags and Tolling’.  From here you can:

  • Review and update your vehicles.
  • Make changes to your tolling type – video or tag tolling.
  • Replace or remove a vehicle.
  • Switch a tag to another vehicle.
  • Select more tag options including replacing and returning a tag or ordering a new tag holder.

The tag will only work on the vehicle it is assigned to. If you are removing a vehicle with a tag, you can switch the tag to another vehicle or return the tag.

Your tag should beep when you pass through the M50 toll.  If it does not beep, it could be due to one of the following reasons:

  • Account suspended: Log in to check your account status and reactivate if needed.
  • Faulty tag or low battery:  Log in to order a replacement tag.
  • Tag not assigned to vehicle: Log in to assign the tag to the correct vehicle.

To correctly read your tag, make sure it is attached appropriately to your vehicle.

  • Cars/vans: high up on your windscreen, ideally centred and just beneath the rear-view mirror.
  • Lorries/buses: On the bottom centre of the windscreen.

Some windscreens have a metallic layer to reflect sunlight. The eFlow tag must be placed within the areas of the windscreen without this coating. Such areas are normally marked with a different colour or pattern.

Watch this video to learn how to correctly attach your eFlow tag.

You can order a replacement tag or tag holder, if for example:

  • Your current tag is not working.
  • You sold your vehicle and left the tag inside.

To order a replacement tag or a tag holder:

  • Log in to your eFlow account and select ‘Vehicles, Tags and Tolling’.
  • Click on the ‘' icon next to the vehicle.
  • Select ’More Tag Options’.

To avoid a €20 (plus VAT) non-return fee, return your old tag to the address below, free of charge.

  • Once ordered, your new tag should arrive within 5 working days and will work immediately on the M50.
  • It may take up to 2 additional working days to work on all other toll roads.

How Do I Change the Ownership of My Vehicle?
  • If you’ve recently sold your vehicle, please inform the Department of Transport so the National Vehicle and Driver File (NVDF) can be updated.
  • eFlow cannot update these details on your behalf.
  • However, once the NVDF records have been updated, our records will update automatically. You can update the ownership of your vehicle online here.

I Sold My Vehicle Without Removing my Tag from My Account, What Do I Do?
  1. Remove the vehicle from your eFlow account: Log in to your eFlow account and select ‘Manage Vehicles, Tags and Tolling’.
  2. Settle outstanding toll charges: If M50 toll charges were incurred after you sold the vehicle, you can raise a query on your account. You will need to provide evidence of the ownership change for any refund to be considered. Please attach any supporting documents in your query.
  3. Update ownership details: If you’ve recently sold a vehicle, ensure the ownership details have been updated with National Vehicle Driver File (NVDF), otherwise you may receive unnecessary penalties.

You can update the ownership of your vehicle online here.
